Pet Memorial Engraving Ideas That Fit 10 Characters

If your engraving field allows 10 characters, count spaces and punctuation as well as letters and numbers. A name, a date, or a few familiar words may be all you want to say. Keeping the wording short can make it easier to read.

Every idea below is 10 characters or fewer, and the number in brackets is its count. Each piece has its own text fields, so check the table further down before you choose.

How to count your engraving

  • Milo is 4 characters: M + i + l + o.
  • Good girl is 9: 4 letters + 1 space + 4 letters.
  • 03.14.2024 is 10: 8 digits + 2 periods.

Short pet memorial engraving ideas

If you have been looking for pet memorial quotes, a few words you used with your own pet may feel more personal. These are starting points you can adapt.

  • Luna (4)

  • Bella (5)
  • Oliver (6)

You might use a birthday, a goodbye date, or the years you shared. Choose a format you will recognize easily.

  • 03.14.2024 (10)
  • 3.14.24 (7)
  • 03/14/24 (8)
  • 2012-2024 (9)

Three ways to arrange a four-sided bar

The 4-Sided Engraved Bar Urn Necklace for Pet Ashes allows up to 10 characters on each of its four sides, in one clean standard font. Any side can be left blank.

Front faces out, and Back rests against your chest. Left and Right are to the left and right of the Front as you look at it. Text on each side reads from top to bottom.

Before you place your order

  • Check the spelling and capitalization you want, then count the exact text you will enter.
  • For the bar, check which line goes on Front, Back, Left, and Right. You can leave a side blank.
  • Where a font choice is offered, check the font number against that piece’s chart.
  • If the piece uses a photo, review the photo as well as the text.

Then take one more look at your wording in the order fields before adding it to your cart.

If it is a gift, the name or date they say most often is a good place to start. The Pet Loss & Sympathy Gifts collection can help you compare the pieces.
